We contribute as a general contractor, subcontractor or supplier with technical assistance, to the construction and repair of structures through all Canada since 1971.
Founded by Eugène Freyssinet, the inventor of post-tensioning, Freyssinet Canada brings together an unrivalled range of civil engineering skills. From engineering to the implementation of technical solutions on site and manufacture of products, we support each project with the same principles of excellence, innovation, performance and sustainability.

Our capabilities in new build
Cable-stayed structures
In 1989, Freyssinet invented the first individually protected multi-strand stay cable, the basis of Freyssinet’s technology for cabled structures. With 8 references of cable structures Freyssinet is a leader in Canada.

Air Pad System Sliding
APS bearings, a patented device: heavy structures are horizontally moved to their final position along skidways onto APS modules. Once the sliding operation is completed, backfilling takes place to re-open the route to traffic.

Autoripage ® Sliding
This patented method developed by Freyssinet enables the installation of a structure entirely prefabricated on a nearby base -usually next to the road or railway track – and sliding it to its final position onto bentonite grout, after completely clearing the ground.

Launching
Launching is a longitudinal sliding method that allows to cross gaps. It is the preferred construction method for bridges crossing valleys or rivers. A launching nose prevents bending moments, as part of the installation is done above the void. Launch is operated with hydraulic jacks.

Strand Lifting
Heavy lifting using the strand jacking technology can be performed to quickly raise or lower almost any load, regardless of the height. This method is an appropriate solution when lifts have large dimensions, when loads require several lifting points.

Post-tensioning strands
Freyssinet invented the prestressing, which was a revolution in civil engineering. Our C range offers a solution combining performance and durability for all types of structures.

Post-tensioning bar
Bridge deck and piers, silos, tunnels, reservoirs, parking structures, buildings, stadiums, wastewater treatment plants, marine structures, dams, nuclear reactor containment vessels, cryogenic liquefied natural gas tanks, offshore platforms -and any other structure, think Freyssinet PT S Bar systems

Geotechnics strand anchors
These are multi-strand ground anchors, based on Freyssinet post-tensioning systems, and designed as post-tensioning solutions for geotechnics. Temporary, semi-permanent and permanent anchors are available.

Maintenance of stay cables
Backed by its long experience providing stay-cables for a vast array of new structures, Freyssinet has developed a comprehensive range of technical solutions and services for the maintenance and repair of all types of stay cables and suspension cable systems.
CFRP
Carbon fiber reinforcements involve bonding tensile composite reinforcements to the surface of structural members to increase their crack resistance and load carrying capacity.

Structural strengthening
The objective is to restore the initial strength of the structure, in order to compensate for a lack of strength due to initial defects or to restore its initial load-bearing capacity, especially when the structure has been damaged by excessive or accidental stress during its use

Post-tensioning diagnosis
Freyssinet offers support for the drafting of these specifications by analyzing your environment, the uses of each structure, their main failure modes and the associated consequences, and by identifying any signs and defects already apparent

Maintenance of PT
We carry out specialized maintenance work to extend the life of prestressed tendons, as well as emergency repairs to ensure the safety of structures following a cable break, or where remaining loading capacity is uncertain.

Integrated design-build repair solutions
How we do it?
01. Identification
The Client presents the structure and its pathologies to the local Freyssinet Specialists.
02. Investigation & diagnosis
Freyssinet specialists work at the site, using archive document relating to the structure, to perform the studies and analyses required to devise the technical solution
03. Development of technical solutions
Based on the information provided by the Client and the Freyssinet specialists, the technical teams work out the suitable repair solution for the structure
04. Implementation
Trained and dedicated worksite teams methodically implement the Freyssinet repair solution. Our experience with construction enables us to deliver technical works that few providers can handle
05. Handover
Client satisfaction is a core focus; we deliver projects that comply with the Client’s specifications and enable the Client to operate the structure safely
06. Maintenance & Monitoring
At the Client’s request Freyssinet can carry out structural monitoring and maintenance operations
